Dubai - the exciting new year-round golfing destination that has the
unique disticntion of being the only golfing centre in the world to
host major international tournaments on both the European and Asian
PGA circuits.
Visiting golfers are offered a choice of three grass
courses, eaxh of championship quality and each providing a different
type of challenge.
EMIRATES GOLF CLUB
On
the fringe of the city, Emirates Golf Club - the Middle East's first
championship grass course, is an oasis og green. Its two beautifully
landscaped courses offer challenging but fair golf to all standard
of players.
The Courses
Majlis: 18 hole championship course, plays to a par of 72
Wadi: 18 hole par 72 course, dominated by a spectacular landscaped
wadi
Facilities
- The impressive Clubhouse, designed in the style of a group of
Bedouin tents, is among the most recognised landmarks in international
golf.
- Superb five star French restaurant, plus bars and lounges.

Rules of Play
DUBAI CREEK GOLF AND YACHT CLUB
Opened in January 1993, Dubai's second world class golf course is
the centrepiece of a 80-hectare sports and leisure complex that also
incorporates a 115-barth marina. Located close to the city centre and
Dubai International Airport on the banks of the Dubai Creek, this club
was the venue for the 1999 Dubai Desert Classic.
The Course
Facilities
- Designed in the shape of the billowing sails of a traditional Arabian
dhow, the 45-metre high clubhouse captures the essence of Dubai's
sea-faring traditions.
- Bars and function rooms overlook the ninth and eighteenth greens,
while the Fairways restaurant combines quality cuisine with breathtaking
views of Dubai.
- Golf Academy, High Tech Studio and a double ended driving range
with instruction from six PGA qualified professionals.
- Well stocked professional shops.
- The separate yacht club incorporates the "Aquarium" a
seafood restaurant, as well as the popular "Boardwalk".
- Tennis courts and gymnasium with teaching programmes are also available.
Rules of Play
- Visitors are welcome on a "pay-as-you-play" basis, as
well as to use the public driving range.
- The dress code requires collared shirts and golfing shorts and proper
golfing attire.
- All players must have a handicap of 28 or less for men and 45 less
for women.
- Possession of a playing certificate from any of the Dubai golf courses
also qualifies.
- All golf courses in Dubai are spikeless.
DUBAI GOLF AND RACING CLUB
Dubai's
third grass course, with its links course straddling the Nad Al Shiba
horse racing circuit and venue for the annual Dubai World Cup, the richest
horse race in the world. The lub offers the only fullly floodlit 18-hole
course along the floodlit driving range in the Middle East and night-time
golf has proved very popular.
The Course
- The only fully floodlit 18 hole course in the Middle East.
- 18 holes, par 71- 6,428 yard course.
- Built around eight lakes, three of which are for irrigation.
- The golf course layout has all the characteristics of a Scottish
links, with rolling fairways and deep pot bunkers. The course is generally
flat with the new front 9 holes featuring elevated tees.
Facilities
- The three-storey blue-tiled clubhouse offers panoramic views across
the race track and golf course.
- Built in the traditional style found at British golf courses, the
interior features panelled walls and leather sofas.
- Facilities at the superbly equipped clubhouse include a Pro Shop,
bars and a 100-seater Steakhouse restaurant.
- Ten first-floor hospitality suites offer corporate entertainment
facilities on golf and race days.
- Golf instruction available from five qualified members of the PGA.

DUBAI COUNTRY CLUB
Visitors
interested in a different golfing experience may like to arrange a game
on sand at the Dubai Country Club, the oldest course in the emirate,
which features "brown", instead of "greens". Golfers
carry a small piece of artificial turf with them, and use it to play
off when on the fairways.
The Courses
- The 18-hole course is a challenging 6,431 yards par 71.
- The 9-hole course over 2,270 yards has a par of 32 and alternate
tee boxes can be used to vary play over 18 holes.
Facilities
- The Dubai Country Club is an extensive complex with several bars
and two restaurants.
- Excellent facilities for swimming, racket sports and a host of other
activities.
- A 24 bay floodlit driving range.
- Coaching available from fully qualified PGA Professional.
Rules of Play
- Individual non-members are most welcome as guests of an existing
member on payment of a fee.
- Groups are welcome, tee times are Sunday to Wednesday between 8am
to 10am.
- Adress code applies both on the golf courses and in the clubhouse
but visitors are advised that flat soled shoes must be worn on the
courses. Spiked shoes are not permitted.
- A ball in the rough should be played as it lies and after putting
the browns should be brushed.
- Local rules and course etiquette are available from the Club and
should be read prior to playing.
- There are 3 golf packages available ranging between Dhs 100-200,
all inclusive of food.
THE RESORT GOLF COURSE
The
Jebel Ali Hotel & Gulf Resort Course is a must for any golfer to
play. The superbly designed 9 hole course is set amidst exotic trees
and shrubs, and offers golfers the opportunity to play in the company
of peacocks, partridges, guinea fowl and a large number of exotic birds.
The Resort Golf Course combines excellent golf facilities with the ultimate
in hospitality and leisure.
The Course
- 9-hole par 36 course with a selection of 4 tees on each hole offers
the opportunity to play either a 9 or a 18 hole round.
- 9 holes- 3,201 yards. 18 holes -6375 yards.
- Five of the holes are designed around a salt water lake, featuring
three wooden bridges.

- Well stocked professional shop.
- Floodlit driving range and short game facilities.
- Golf instruction from qualified PGA professionals.
- Corporate Golf days or individual packages can include combinations
of a wide range of facilities such as golf, fishing, shooting, riding,
tennis, snooker, pool and many more.
Rules of Play
- Visitors are welcome on a pay as you play basis.
- Visitors without handicap certificates are welcome, however, players
must have a sound knowledge of the rules, etiquette of the game and
previous course experience.
- Normal golfing attire is required.
- The course is spikeless.
HATTA FORT GOLF COURSES
This mountain resort hotel, one-hour's drive from Dubai city centre
has a floodlit mini-golf course of 18-holes and a 9-hole, 1,057 yard
cross-country fun course. Golf clubs and lessons are available on request.
HYATT GOLF PARK
Situated in the grounds of the Hyatt Regency Dubai in the heart of
Dubai city, this floodlit golf park consists of a 9-hole pitch and putt
course, as well as an 18-hole crazy golf course ideal for children or
beginners. Golf equipment and instructors are available on request.
