Guaranteed departures every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday with a minimum group of 2 adults.

Guests are picked up at all major hotels in Bangkok according to our pick up route described in the terms and conditions. We then transfer north by a/c minivan to Ayutthaya . We visit many great examples of temples some more ruined than others dating from as early as the 14th century. From exploring the temples by foot and bike we then head out of this historic city to follow the back roads that follow the Chao Praya river to Bang Pa-In, where we will cross over the river where we will have lunch at a river side restaurant. After lunch we will visit the summer palace before the short transfer back to Bangkok.

TRIP PROFILE

This is a gentle 25 kilometre ride along country back roads and is suitable for anyone that can ride a bike. The roads are flat, quiet countryside trails pass by many local communities.

We ride as a group, with an experienced SpiceRoads cycle guide setting a gentle pace. Stopping often to visit points of interest, we also take the opportunity to sample some of the local food. Our support vehicle follows close behind with plenty provisions. Our guides are knowledgeable on the local area and customs and explain the history, culture and local way-of-life each time we stop.

Water, soft drinks and snacks are all included as well as lunch and SpiceRoads supplies a quality mountain bike and helmet.

This trip is suitable for most levels of riders and is an excellent trip for families.

ITINERARY

Day 1

Bangkok – Ayutthaya – Bangkok 25 km [L]

Pick up and drop off at all major Bangkok hotels.

07:00 – 09:00

Pick up from hotel and drive to Ayutthaya – Sightseeing at Wat Chai Mongkol.

09:00 – 13:00

Transfer to the Wat Phra Mahathat, and visit, before cycling to Wat Phra Si Sanphet, old Royal Palace. We then start the ride to the summer at Bang Pa-In via Wat Chai Wattanaram

13:00 – 14:00

Lunch at local riverside restaurant.

14:00 – 15:00

Visit Summer palace

15:00 – 16:30

Transfer back to hotel in Bangkok
