| This auditorium represents a typical village, with the central clay area as the village square. The stage represents a traditional Thai house found in the countryside.
Our show will highlight traditions, customs, dances and ebtertainment from the north, the south, the central plains and the norteastern plateau. It will also link past and present to give you a grimpse of the diversity that is Thailand. We start at daybreak with morning rituals in thhe household and conclude our story with the evening's celebrations.
1. As the sun rises the residents come awake. A mother is carrying her sleeping infant as she sings an ancient lullaby. It has been a tradition in Thailand for all men to enter into monkhood for a short period of time during his life to learn Dharma and to honor his parents. It is a joyful time as relatives and friends accomany the novice in a monk's ordination procession. |

2. The Nagee Saran Dance is performed by beautiful maiden to the Naga, or the Water Spitir, who will be able to plant their crops. The Naga and Nagee are male and female serpents from mythology and this tradition dates back almost a thousand years. |
3. When the rain comes, the land becomes fertile and farmers plow the land and plant seeds for crops, especially rice, which is Thailand's main crop. A reward of the year's hard-work, the joyful Harvest Dance. |

| 4. When the harvesting is done, there is little to do but wait for the next season. At tis time young men practice "Glong Sabutchai" or Victory drums. |
5. Camps are set up in the village square for various activities, including training camps for various forms of self defense, such as Thai Boxing. |

| 6. Sword fighting and pole fighting show traditional and historacal forms of self defense in the old days. |
7. Thai Wedding Ceremony performed in and authentic manner. It is ceremony of pageantry, humility, joy and splendor with all the friends and relatives of the newly-weds partcipatin. |

8. Here we will see a combination of four dances from the four main regions of Thailand. For the southern Bu-Nga Dance performed by maiden in an intricate and lively welcome dance. The Northern Fingernail Dance the music is slow and graceful. The elegant Vichanee Dance with its colorful costumes and exquisitely crafted fans from the Central region was once only performed for rotalty. The boisterous Northeastern Bamboo Dance always signifies festivities and camaraderies.
9. Finally, everyone joins in the colorful Flag Dance as a finale. |
