B. Freeway 1 → Exit at Wangtian interchange → Provincial Highway 14 → Caotun → Puli (connect to Provincial Highway 21)→ Yuchih → Sun Moon lake

C. Freeway 3→Exit at Caotun interchange→Caotun→Puli (connect to Provincial Highway 21)→Yuchih→Sun Moon Lake

From South:
A. Freeway 1 → Exit at Dounan interchange → Douliou (connect to Provincial Highway 3) → Sun Moon Lake (about 56 kilometers)

B. Freeway 3 → Exit at Mingjian interchange → Jiji (connect to Provincial Highway 3 and turn onto Provincial Highway 16) → Shueili (connect to Provincial Highway 16) → Sun Moon Lake (about 21 kilometers)

BY BUS:
1. From Taichung, take a Ren Yeou bus directly to the lake. There are two daily departures, at 8:00am and 3:00pm.

2. From Taichung, take a Nantou bus. Kuo-Kuand bus, or other privately operated bus to Puli, then switch to a Nantou or Green Transit bus to the lake.

3. Both Kuo-Kuang operate a direct service from Taipei to the lake.
