Koh Samui is situated in the Gulf of Siam, 565 kilometres south of Bangkok and Bangkok Airways have numerous flights a day departing Bangkok from 7:10 a.m. until 5:50 p.m. Flight time is about 1 hour 20 minutes.Visitors with own vehicles can reach the island from the ferry pier at Donsak. These ferries depart either on an hourly or two-hourly basis from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. The 32 kilometre journey takes 1 hour 20 minutes and costs 180 Baht for a standard car, plus 40 Baht per additional passenger.
