Today:
Laguna de Bay covers almost one half of the total surface area of all existing lakes in the Philippines and ranks as one of the largest inland bodies of water in Southeast Asia (Santos-Borja, 1994). Based on the study conducted by the National Institute for Geological Sciences (NIGS) for the LLDA, the present surface area of the lake is 949 km2 and the average depth is now at 2 meters. |
