Ha Noi - Lao Cai - Sapa Trekking - Ha Long - Ha Noi
| Day 1: Arrival - Ha Noi |
| On arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you are met and transferred to hotel. Ha Noi is Vietnam's capital. This stylish and gracious city retains a unique old world charm and some Asia's most striking colonial architecture. ( If time permits) we enjoy a short cyclo ride around the old quarter streets to see the different local ways of life. O/N in Ha Noi.(B) |
| Day 2: Ha Noi - Lao Cai |
| A morning sightseeing tour of Ha Noi includes Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature well known as Vietnam's first university, the peaceful Hoan Kiem Lake with its scared temple and the interesting History Museum. The reminder of the day is free for your own exploration of Ha Noi until we take the night train to Lao Cai. The train conditions are very basic however we will travel in hard sleeper class which is compartment for 6 passengers. O/N on board.(B) |
| Day 3: Lao Cai - SaPa |
| On arrival at Lao Cai train station we take a drive to SaPa. At an elevation of 1,500 meters, Sa Pa is the former hill retreat for French administrators when the heat in plain became unbearable. The remoteness and simple lifestyle of ethnic minorities are a highlight of Sa Pa although conditions are very basic. The afternoon we have enough time to explore the town and pack for trekking days. O/N in Sa Pa.(B,L,D) |
| Day 4: SaPa - Ta Van |
| Today, our trek into the mountainous region of Sa Pa begins as we depart the town. Along the way we make stop over at San Sa Ho and Lao Chai villages, home to the Black Hmong hill-tribe people. O/N in Ta Van village. (B,L,D) |
| Day 5: Ta Van - Den Thang |
| An early morning start to trek mountainsides. The trekking will be difficult at times with some steep uphill and downhill walking, but the spectacular landscape with a mixture of terraced fields and rustic villages, makes the hardship all worthwhile.O/N in Den Thang village.(B,L,D) |
| Day 6: Den Thang - Ban Ho |
| A long walking day to Ban Ho. The beaten track is a real challenge however some physical preparation will enable you to fully appreciate today's trekking. O/N in Ban Ho village. (B,L,D) |
| Day 7: Ban Ho - Thanh Phu |
| The Phan Si Pang range boasts Vietnam's highest mountain and lends an alpine feel to the area surrounding this hill station. We continue venturing into the lowland of Sa Pa, visiting the Xa Pho, Tay ethnic minority people, all friendly and welcoming. O/N at Thanh Phu village. (B,L,D) |
| Day 8: Thanh Phu - Ben Den |
| After few hour walk to Ben Den, we complete the trekking expedition and take a local transport to Pho Lu. In the evening we board a train back to Ha Noi, hard sleeper cabine. O/N on train. (B,L,D) |
| Day 9: Ha Noi - Ha Long |
| In the early morning, the train journey arrives in Ha Noi. After breakfast, we travel by road to Ha Long Bay with stopover in Hai Phong, the biggest port town of northern Vietnam. A short sightseeing tour of Hai Phong takes through tree lined boulevards to Hang Kenh Communal House , Du Hang Pagoda with beautiful wooden carvings and Hang Kenh carpet factory. O/N in HaLong. | Day 10: Ha Long - Ha Noi |
| Ha Long Bay boasts one of Vietnam's most impressive scenic sights. This morning, we embark on a cruise out to explore the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. Along the way we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove. After a seafoodlunch on board we return to Ha Noi, arriving in time to see an evening performance of Ha Noi's famous water puppets.O/N in Ha Noi.(B,L) |
| Day 11: Ha Noi - Departure |
| There is a free time to relax or further explore Ha Noi . The tour ends after your transfer to Noi Bai Airport for departure. (B) |
