| Day 1: Arrival - Phnom Penh | |
| On arrival at Po Chen Tong Airport, you are met and transfer to hotel. The capital city of Phnom Penh was once considered the loveliest city of Indochina. Despite its recent turbulent history, it still maintains considerable charm. A city tour acquaints us with its major sights. The private quarters of the Royal Palace are now home to the royal family and are therefore very close to the public. At the northern area of the palace grounds is Silver Pagoda, which is the most sacred temple in the country. We visit both structures as well as the National Museum, with and excellent collection of actefacts illustrating the splendour of Khmer history. Overnight in Phnom Penh. | |
| Day 2: Phnom Penh - Tonle Bati - Phnom Penh | |
| After breakfast, we continue exploring the capital city with the bustling Central market, the Independence Monument, Wat Ounalom and Wat Phnom, topped with a huge stupa as well as Buddhist temple. As a major part of our sightseeing tour, we transfer out of the town to visit the Tonle Bati with Ta Prohm and Prasat Yeay Peo Temple, the Tuol Sleng Prison Museum and the notorious "Killing Fields" of Choeung Ek, which provides a deep insight into the painful bloody rule of the Khmer Rouge. | Day 3: Phnom Penh - Kampong Cham - Kampong Thom | |
| Heading out of the town, we travel by roads through Cambodia's biggest growing rubber area to Kampong Cham. The deep contrast of lush vegetation and red surface of basaltic soil is incredible all along the way. On arrival in Kampong Cham, we visit the Wat Nokhor with its ancient temple and modern style pagoda as well as the vestige of colonial architecture. Enroute to Kongpong Thom, we make stop over at Phnom Pros and Phnom Srei, two hills whose names translate as the 'man hill' and the 'woman hill' Overnight in Kompong Thom (B). | |
| Day 4: Kampong Thom - Siem Reap | |
| An early morning start to drive to the archaeological sight of Sambor Prei Kuk, which is dotted with hundred pre-angkor styled temples. The road conditions are very poor, but the spectacular scenery of this ancient ruins, with a mixture of temples and forest makes the hardship all worthwhile. We then continue our journey to Siem Reap. This town is our base for visiting the world famous temples of the ancient city Angkor, home for the capital of the powerful Khmer Empire, which is dated from 802 AD to 1350 AD. | Day 5: Siem Reap - Angkor Temple | |
| Today, we spend a full day exploring the wondrous ancient ruins with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the largest as well as most complete structure of Angkor Wat. A view of the spectacular contrast colours of sunset over these sandstone monuments is a perfect way to finish the day. Overnight in Siem Reap (B). | |
| Day 6: Siem Reap - Angkor Temple | |
| The Temple of Ta Prohm, with enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers embracing themselves in the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of man's creation being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature is an incredible sight. We explore this masterpiece as well as its surrounding temples of Banteay Kdei, Sra Srong, TA Keo, Thommanon, Chau Say Tevado. The grand circuit including Preah Khan, the Kravan, Neak Pean, Krol Ko, TA som, East Mebon, Pre Rub Temple is also visited, this afternoon before we walk up to Phnom Bakheng HIll for the sunset watching. | Day 7: Siem Reap - Departure | |
|
After breakfast, we embark on a short cruise on Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia's biggest natural lake, stopping along the way for an enjoyable visit to a floating village and fisherman at work (If time permits). The tour ends after your transfer to Siem Reap Airport for departure (B). |
