Tour CLT 09 - Kaikoura - Swim with the Dolphins

This tour accompanies the Kaikoura Whale Watch Tours from Christchurch (CLT 08 refers).

On your arrival in Kaikoura you may enjoy either an early lunch at the Fyffe Gallery and Restaurant or have free time to explore Kaikoura before being transferred to the Swim with Dolphins Tour with Dolphin Encounter, where you will be equipped with wet suit, mask, snorkel and flippers. There will be the opportunity during the day to visit a seal colony where fur seals may be viewed at close quarters.

Travel by road or train through the rural pastoral scenes of North Canterbury to Kaikoura where mountains meet sea
On arrival in Kaikoura lunch may be taken at the Fyffe Gallery and Restaurant (optional) or free time to explore Kaikoura
Join the Swim with Dolphins tour with Dolphin Encounter. You will be fully equipped to swim in the sea with the acrobatic Dusky Dolphins
Visit a fur seal colony on the rocky shores which surround Kaikoura. This stop provides a great photo opportunity

Tour CLT 09A
This tour accompanies the Akaroa Day tour from Christchurch (CLT01).  On arriving at Akaroa join the Canterbury Cat Too for a cruise on the Akaroa Harbour sighting dolphins, penguins and seals.  Prior to your departure you will be equipped with wet suit, mask, snorkel and flippers.  On locating a pod of Hectors Dolphins you will enter the water to swim with these rare and endangered mammals. Following your return to Akaroa village time will be available for lunch and to explore the many fine craft shops and old French colonial buildings prior to your return to Christchurch.

Travel by road to Akaroa via Sign of the Takahe and Sign of the Kiwi, Governors Bay, Gebbies Pass, Lake Ellesmere, Lake Forsyth, Little River, and the Hill Top.
Visit the cheese factory at Barry's Bay and sample some fine New Zealand cheese.
Join the Canterbury Cat Too for a cruise on the Akaroa Harbour and your swim with the rare Hectors Dolphins.
Time in Akaroa for lunch (optional) and to explore the many fine craft shops and old French colonial buildings.
