the tour of the city to discover the worship places:
Pagoda, mosque, cathedral and historical places: Champ
de Mars, our actual horse track, The Citadel, a British

Shopping
time in the typical market called "Bazarre" on the
island and in the modern commercial centre, Le Caudan
Waterfront, where you can choose from the variety of
local craft products at the craft market to duty free
shops. |

the various restaurants at the Caudan Waterfront. |

Leave
the capital for the botanical garden. On the way, you
will visit the oldest Tamil temple newly renovated
with its multitudes of colours and structures from
Madras. |

Stroll
in the oldest and finest botanical gardens of the world,
with many rare species of plants and spectacular bloom.
Established in 1735, this 60-acre garden boasts 500
different species of plants, of which 80 are palms.
Of particular interest are the giant water lilies (Victoria
Regia), a spice garden, and the Talipot Palms, said
to bloom once every 60 years, after which they die. |

the one hour shopping tour in Floreal industrial
sector, where the factory shops for textile and
cashmere, duty free shops for jewels and carpets
are waiting for you like: Adamas and Shibani duty
free shops. |

Proceed
to the town of Curepipe with stop at the ship model
factory, which is the famous art of the Mauritian
handicrafts, souvenirs shops and other duty free
shops. |

Starting
the sightseeing part of the tour with a stop-over
at the Trou Aux Cerfs, a dormant volcano at about
650 meters above sea level where you can admire
an overview of the central plateau with the odd
shape mountains of the island. |

Visiting
the Grand Bassin, the "Ganges" of Mauritius, which
is a crater lake surrounded by temples. This site
is one of the most important places of worship
for the Hindu community. |

Drive
through the forests of Plaine Champagne & Macchabee
where still exists the endemic species of plants
and wild animal. Then, stop at Black River Gorges
to see the magnificent view from the highest peak,
Black River mountain. |

further to the South-West, you will reach the Chamarel
Cascade and the seven-coloured earth, a volcanic
phenomenon that had left this plot of land with
rich mineral and oxides to give different colours.
You will also have a glimpse on the only famous
Coffee plantation of the island for Chamarel coffee. |

Wild

South-East region is where the civilisation of
the island has started with the coming first settlers,
the Dutch. The French created the first port in
the natural harbour of Mahebourg. The area is full
of vestiges from our history. |

will visit the Naval Museum, located in a French
colonial mansion, which contains various objects
found in the numerous wreckage surrounding the
island. This mansion hosted the English and French
naval commanders Willoughby and Duperré who were
wounded during the Battle of Vieux Grand Port in
1810. |

Tour
in the village of Mahebourg to have a glimpse over
the life of the mauritians with free time for shopping
and photographing. The lagoon is quite impressive
in that area and you have the monument of the soldiers
during the battle of Vieux Grand Port, as well
as the monument for the abolition of slavery. |

Drive
through the coastal villages in the direction of
the Domaine du Chasseur. On the way, you will see
monuments and ruins from the Dutch and French colonial
periods. |

at the Domaine du Chasseur, you will be welcomed
by the hostess and will proceed to the restaurants
of your choice for lunch. |

in the 1000 hectares of land where you will discover
the nature inhabited by hundreds of Javanese stags,
wild boars, monkeys and thousands of birds among
which nearly extinct Mauritian Kestrel. |
