Excursions

Protected Marine Areas

Orimas Thila, a few minutes from Ellaidhoo, specializes in the smaller details of reef life; all the little fish and finer details so easily overlooked. The other two protected sites are home to two of the largest fish in the waters. Maayaa Thila is known as the White-Tip Reef Shark capital, and Fish Head is renowned as the Grey Reef Shark capital.

If Grey Reef Shark and White-Tip Reef Shark aren't enough for you, there is a full day excursion to see the hammerheads of Rasdhoo (4am start!).

There are nearly 1200 small islands and an abundance of beautiful coral reefs in the Maldives. To give you the opportunity of visiting some of these islands and reefs, we organise weekly excursion programs.

Island Hopping: Full day excursion to an uninhabited island and a resort island, with BBQ lunch included.

Visit Hangnameedhoo: Half-day trip to an inhabited island where you can experience the daily life of local people.

Snorkelling Trip: Hal-day snorkelling on the house reefs of two resort islands.

Snorkelling Safari: Half-day snorkelling on some of the reefs near Ellaidhoo

Sunset Fishing: Fishing on a boat at a nearby reef at sunset, followed by a BBQ dinner. Likely catches include snappers, jack fish and groupers.

Night Fishing: Fishing on a boat at a nearby reef late in the evening, with a BBQ dinner on the following day. Likely catches include snappers, jack fish and groupers.

Morning Fishing: Trolling for fish early in the morning, with BBQ dinner on the same day included. Wahoo, barracuda, sailfish, dolphin fish etc. are commonly caught during morning fishing.

Male' Excursion: Full day shopping trip to Male', the capital island of Maldives.
