The greatest attraction in the Mara is watching the animals in their natural element; a lion’s roar, a cheetah making a kill, and the big elephant herds are all very fascinating events.

This is the traditional land of the Masai people, nodamic herders who choose a traditional lifestyle and who are permitted to graze their cattle in the area. A proud and largely aloof tribe who have held on their customs and traditions for hundreds of years. The park’s habitats include the forests along the banks of the Mara and Talek Rivers, acacia forest and open savannah.

Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 03  MAASAI MARA NATIOANAL RESERVE

The famous ornithologist Roger Tory Peterson defined it as “the greatest bird spectacle on earth”. The fortunate sentence has now become a cliché and is used to fed-up-ism  for the Rift Valley.

1300 hrs.         Lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge.
1530 hrs.         Afternoon game viewng drive in the park. This is Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary. The Rothschild giraffes have also been rehabilitated here at a time that they were endangered. You are lamost certain to see the most elusive of the cats family, the leopard.
