Grand Mercure Petra Beit Zaman, opened September, 2000, is a renovated authentic XIXth century village, known as Khirbet Al Nawafleh, in Wadi Musa, transformed into this deluxe resort.
The refurbishment of the old village houses was carried out in keeping with the original architectural style while providing the luxury and comfort required by the modern travellers. New add-on buildings were des
[+]igned to complete the services and facilities required in modern resort hotels, by keeping the style of existing structures and in harmony with the village type setting. The village contains 2 old olive presses both of which were consolidated, as well as an old roman aqueduct in a small half-private courtyard, where, in the old days the villagers would gather to enjoy the sunset, while drinking tea or smoking the Narjileh. Scattered in different parts of the village are olive trees, vineyards, figs and citrus trees.
