City Tour With a 24-hour ticket, you can explore Singapore on an open-top double-decker bus as it passes from stop to stop, along the way accompanied by an interesting commentary. You can see all the main sights Singapore has to offer after hopping on and off 22 strategically located stops around the city. The history of Singapore is laid bare before you as you indulge yourself in its rich ethnic, cultural and historical heritage, passing by each ethnic enclave, such as China Town, Kampong Glam and Little India. Past, present and future all mingle together as religious monuments cozy up among quaint shop houses while modern shopping malls can be seen in the near distance, like the Suntec City. Beyond that are beautiful gardens and towering skyscrapers that outline the central hub of the city. That in turn is where the ‘colonial heart’ lies. There, you can see the Parliament House, Supreme Court and City Hall. Also, there stands a statue of Singapore’s founder, Sir Stamford Raffles, which was cast in dark bronze by Thomas Woolner, in front of the Victoria Theatre. There is another replica at North Boat Quay, which used to be known as Raffles Landing Site in the colonial times; Raffles was believed to have first set foot here.
