Omar Ali Saiffuddien Mosque

A royal Islamic mosque named after the 28th Sultan of Brunei, Omar Ali Saifuddien, was completed in 1958 as a symbol of Islamic faith in Brunei. Located in the Bandar Seri Bagawan which is the capital of Sultanate of Brunei. The mosque is the largest in the Far East and also considered among the most beautiful in the world. The main dome is entirely made of gold. Made from the most extravagant materials in the world, the mosque boost marble from Italy, granite from Shanghai, stained glass and chandeliers from England, and carpets from Saudi Arabia and Belgium.

5th Sultan’s Tomb

The 5th Sultan of Brunei was Sultan Bolkiah whom ascended the throne of Brunei upon the abdication of his father, Sultan Sulaiman. As the fifth Sultan, he spread the territory of the country to its maximum and led his fleet on numerous voyages to Java, Malacca, and the Philippines where, for a short time, he seized and held Manila. He brought Brunei to prominence as the dominant power in the region and that was the golden age of Brunei. The tomb of the 5th Sultan is one fantastic historical heritage of the Sultanate. The tomb of solid marble was hand-made and no two pieces are of the same pattern and design. The beauty of the fine and intricate craftsmanship reflects the golden era during the reign of the Sultan.

The Brunei Museum

The Royal Brunei Museum is located just 6.5 kilometres from the city along the Brunei River. It has some excellent examples of Islamic art, a history of the oil and gas industry in Brunei, and an ancient ceramic collection from a shipwreck, which sank 500 years ago. Most of the museum pieces inside are unique and priceless items of Islamic Arts. Detailed work of ancient calligraphers is featured through a private collection of amazingly elaborate Holy Korans, ceramic ware, glasswares and carpets. A history of the oil industry of Brunei and Borneo ethnographic displays are also shown.

Water Village

It is a district of Brunei's Capital City bandar Seri Begawan and 30 000 ppl live in the village which represents rougly ten percent of the nation's total population. The village consists of 3000 structures such as mosques, hospital, restaurants and etc. It was dubbed as Venice of the East by Antonio Pigafetta in 1521.
