Hotel Overview

Ruen Come In - Chiang Mai is a group of beautiful contemporary Thai houses, which was designed to reflect Chiang Mai rich culture and its craftmanship. The main building is made of Golden Teak Wood, which is highly regarded as an invaluable wood for its beauty and durability properties. Teak wood in Thailand has different names, due to different color of the timbers. The so called "Golden Teak Wood" has golden-brown color. Much of the world's teak is founded in India, Myanmar, Northern Thailand, Laos and Indonesia. It grows better in areas with adequate rainfall (1,000 – 2,000 mm per year) and with 3 – 4 months dry season (with 75 – 95% light exposure). Teak wood was popular in the past as material for House construction. Teak wood is easily worked and has natural oils that make it suitable for use in exposed locations, where it is durable even when not treated with oil or varnish. Teak cut from old trees grown slowly in natural forests is more durable and harder; teak from young trees grown in plantations is more prone to splitting and water damage. It is very resistant to the attack of termites. The timber is used in the manufacture of outdoor furniture, boat decks, and other articles where weather resistance is desired. It is also used for indoor flooring, as a veneer for indoor furnishings, doors, window panes, as well as columns and beams in old type houses. Though we can see and buy teak wood furniture, but nowadays it is rare to see a big house building up with Teak wood as main material due to its high price and scarcity of the wood itself. We try to preserve the main building as best as we can, so guest can enjoy their time while dining and staying with us here. If you have a chance to come to Chiang Mai, please visit us
