Direction

By Air: All local airlines such as Air Philippines, Cebu Pacific and Zest Air fly to Coron via Busuanga’s Francisco B. Reyes Airport. Flights come and go everyday in different time schedules. It takes about 30 minutes via van going to Coron town proper. Peak season is from October until May. By Sea: Superferry Shipping Line takes you directly to Coron. It leaves Manila on Friday afternoon and arrives in Coron on Saturday morning (12 hour journey). It heads back to Manila on Sunday night.

Near By Attraction

Kayangan Lake: "Kayangan" is a Tagbanua term for entrance and indeed, it is the entrance to all other lakes that can be found in the area. It is a Hall of Fame Awardee as the cleanest and greenest inland body of water for three consecutive years from 1997 to 1999. Barracuda Lake: Like Kayangan Lake, it is also a Hall of Fame Awardee for three consecutive years as the cleanest and greenest inland body of water. Twin Lagoon: Anyone who wishes to swim in these lagoons will experience a change in water temperature known as "thermo cline". As you go further, the water becomes warmer due to the limestone deposit at the sea bed. Maquinit Hot Spring: Just five kilometers away from Coron town, at the little village called "Makinit", two naturally occurring salt water springs on the shore front, somehow bubbling from the mountainside despite their proximity to the sea. The healthy water here ranges from 40 degree Celsius. It is best to soak after a long day to rejuvenate those tired muscles and give it a boost. Siete Pecados: The seven- islet cluster where one can dive and snorkel and be able to see the beautiful coral formations and the different kinds of fish found in the area. Mount Tapyas: Tapyas is a Cuyunon term which means sliced from the whole. According to the history, during the Second World War, the American Soldiers discovered that the Japanese Troops were hiding at Mt. Tapyas. Based at the present location of Claudio Sandoval Elementary School, they targeted and bombed the said mountain, with the old cañon near the flagpole as the living proof thus resulting to destroy a part of the mountain. Calauit Wildlife Sanctuary: On the northwest tip of Busuanga is Calauit Island, a unique wildlife reserve established in the mid 1970’s that is home to both endemic and African exotic species of fauna. The Calauit island area has other attractions such as beaches and mangroves within and around Calauit Island that could be explored as well.
