Value for money is good....relative to other 5-star hotels, it is not that expensive for 2 persons. Breakfast is also good.

The hotel is old and needs refurbishing. Nevertheless it's kept clean and in order. The breakfast buffet is awesome! Location is perfect if you don't mind walking 10mins or less to get to the shopping and nightlife hub of Makati City.

The hotel is a very professional 5 star business hotel. Upon checking in, they give you a small glass of orange juice, which is exactly what you crave for after experiencing the Philippines heat and sun. Breakfast is included in most cases, and if you dont, you have got to try it. Its a buffet that gives a lot of buffets a run for its money. It has something for everyone - even for the vegetarians there are quite a lot of choices. The room amenities are complete, even with small mouthwash and loofah! The bad thing is, internet is quite expensive - at P1800 for the day or P250 per hour. Hotel taxi is also expensive, P1800 to the airport! but they can also wave a metered taxi down which costs around P200 to the airport. Overall, it was a good experience and I would stay here again.

Overall I had a satisfactory stay. The staff were very efficient although a few of them could try to smile a bit more. The breakfast buffet spread was good and I especially liked that they cooked the bacon etc to order thereby giving it great taste not to mention that you can smell them cooking!

The hotel was very nice and in a good location.

The hotel itself is very pleasant although not aimed at those like us with a 10 years old child. We wanted to sit and have a drink as well as hear some live music but sadly we where advised that you had to be over 18 years old to go into the bar offering live music. We walked down the road to Peninsula and here they had an open lobby playing live music which was good enough for us. The swimming pool was lovely and again a very good service is offered down by the pool. Mandarin Oriental room we stayed in had worn out carpets but the room itself was comfortable. I think the room we stayed in had not undergone a refurb which I feel is needed. Excellent service from staff made us feel extremely welcome. The breakfast was included and it was very good food as well as the exceptional level of service. I cannot emphasise how good the staff (well all bar one at reception on day of check out who gave a standard level of service) are here in this hotel - thanks. Hotel offers taxi to the airport for 1650 pesos so we asked the doorman to wave a taxi down for us which was no trouble at all and the taxi trip cost just 200 pesos.

Friendly, exceptional hotel staff! Hotel common areas are wonderful, rooms are slightly dated but the staff and location (and great value) more than make up for outdated rooms! Would stay here again!

Although the rooms of this hotel are bit old, the service is absolutely fantastic and five star. The staff goes out of its way to make you feel at home whether it is at reception, doorman, business centre, food and beverage outlets, etc. Great experience to repeat again! Very enjoyable stay.

Go for the lucky dip deal on this hotel - it was a great start for my trip to the Philippines and I have to say its gone steadily downhill from there! No complaints at all, and the breakfast was great!! We also availed of the off peak time massage - excellent.

I agree that the hotel needs some updating but their world class customer service make up for it plus more. The check in/out process was fast. Breakfast was great.

My family's almost 2 weeks stay in Mandarin Oriental was totally convenient, relaxing and enjoyable. The hotels' employees/staff were courteous, friendly and accommodating. The daily buffet breakfast was excellent to start the day and we really appreciated the shuttle service provided to get us around Rockwell and Makati CBD. In short, Our hotel stay is a resounding success and will come back again in the near future if given the "SAME CRAZY PRICE" again.

My partner, a local resident, arrived first and checked in. I arrived well after Midnight, having arrived from a flight from the U.S. My private transport missed picking me up, and a quick inquiry to a airport agent near baggage directed me to the Mandarin office. They had my name as a arriving guest, asked me which mode of conveyance I wished, private car or limo. Whisked me away to Mandarin's door. I was met by the major domo, who gathered up all my bags, took me to the front desk, where a charming lady took my information and offered me a cold orange drink. When I commented on how delightful it tasted, she proffered another. Wonderful! As the major domo again led me to the elevators, he went on to mention I should attend the breakfast buffet in the morning, as it was part of the package I had booked. I was in less than a mood to discuss food as I had travel over 27 hours that day, and sleep was first on my mind. The room was magnificent. King bed and high-count linen sheets, fluffy pillows...I am out as soon as my head hits the bed. The AC controls allowed me to cool the room to my liking, a rarity in hotels. Service was excellent on all requests. Remainder of hotel was equally as nice. Pool was large, well kept, and accomidating. I finally had the will to try the breakfast buffet on the last morning of my stay. I surely regret not making it more than once. It was abundant with Pinoy, Japaneses, and Western breakfast foods. Well done, Mandarin. Will surely stay again.

Overall, very pleased with the service at the hotel and the quality of the breakfast buffet. The shuttle bus and car was very much appreciated. My only gripe was with a certain concierge who didn't want to oblige me with a bottle of water when I asked her for one. She merely stated that "bottled water is provided in the rooms." However, that was a minor issue. Great job otherwise. Thanks.

I was surprised with the excellent service I got. I really commend the service staff of the hotel. From the concierge, reception staff, waiters, pool attendants, room staff, hotel taxi staff/driver...keep up the good work. For sure I am now a convert of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Manila.

We were very happy with our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Makati last week-end, despite the threat of the typhoon Pepeng, luckily, Metro Manila was spared and we had a wonderful time staying there for 3 nights. The staffs of the hotel were all amiable and very helpful and there is a lot of attention to details given to everything...ambiance, appearance and uniform, room accommodation, cleanliness and most specially the food presentation. It is worth the money! The service is impeccable!

This was by far the best hotel I have stayed at in the Philippines. Highly recommended, the buffet breakfast was excellent and an abundant of choices and the swimming pool was pristine clear and very well maintained.

Good location, near malls and restaurant/bars, very friendly employees, very good price/perfomance value, ask for a room to the main entrance side, other rooms with view to Makati average noisy, excellent buffets, drinks at the bar to expensive (1 beer 250php), better take a beer outside of the hotel.

Everything seems to be good except that rooms do not have free internet access. And if you want to use, only cable, no wifi and quite expensive too.

I could not fault my stay! Breakfast was fantastic, location was perfect for all the local bars/clubs! Staff were professional and accomodating - I would not hesitate to take the Makati Madness deal and stay here again - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Mandarin Oriental Manila is an excellent hotel. I found it to be luxurious yet affordable. It is in a great location in the heart of Makati's financial district. The hotel management also made sure that security for the hotel guests is an absolute priority. This is very important, especially for those traveling alone. I found the hotel staff to be very courteous, helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. I will definitely stay in this hotel again and recommend it to family and friends.

I specified a non-smoking room and since they ran out of it in the superior room category they upgraded us to their next higher level.

I read some nasty reviews about this hotel and was apprehensive when I found out that my booking through "Crazy Rate Makati" was actually Mandarin Oriental. BUT ALL MY FEARS WERE UNFOUNDED. I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel. Due to an early flight, they arranged an early check-in for me. And to my pleasant surprise, they upgraded my room to a Deluxe Club room. They were most accomodating to all my little requests and even allowed me to use their business centre to surf the net for free. For US$80 per night including breakfast, through 'Crazy Rate Makati', I had a nice cozy room with a fantastic view, enjoyed SUPERB 5-stars service and a great spread for buffet breakfast (good quality too), I simply could not ask for more. I will definitely stay here again when I come Manila.

A Mandarin hotel. Very nice, good facilities, excellent service. Good location right in the heart of Makati, close to business areas, shopping, dining centres.

Despite the Hotel and its facility comes to its age, it is still a good value for money.

I stayed in serveral hotels in Makati already, but in spite of the location, which is a little bit off from Glorietta and Greenbelt (but still in walking distance) the Mandarin Oriental is my favorite now. Clean, nice rooms, good amenities and friendly personal that treats a backpacker like all the business people in the hotel. Great buffet breakfast, by the way.

My family definitely enjoyed our stay in Mandarin Oriental Manila and I am looking forward to stay in this hotel again.
