Hotel Overview

Like the jewel for which it is named, the The Pearl Farm Beach Resort is a precious gateway where guests can revel in tropical pleasures, relish life's flavors and feast on nature's bounties. The Pearl Farm Beach Resort lies in a secluded cove on Samal Island off the coast of Davao City. This 11-hectare spread was once a pearl farm, where thousands of white-lipped oysters, transported from the Sulu Sea, were cultivated for their pink, white and gold pearls. Today, the resort beckons with the promise of a relaxing, private retreat, under the care of our friendly, charming staff. The resort's Samal Houses are patterned after the stilt houses of seafaring Samal tribes of the Sulu archipelago. By day, schools of tiny fish frolic between the sturdy poles that support the houses. At night, the sound of the waves are a soothing aid to slumber. A jar of water and a coconut shell dipper are placed near the entrance to each house so that guests may wash away the sand after a day of barefooting on the beach. In local custom, this gesture is also symbolic of a cleansing of the spirit.

The resort is scheduled to do construction work starting Jan 14 to end of Mar 2013.

Hotel Reviews

At the time of our stay, the resort was under major renovation. The main infinity pool, dinning facility and welcome area was under renovation. The staff was friendly and accommodating to the visitor. The food was primarily buffet and cost more than a thousand peso per person. We stayed in a samal hut over the water and was nice experience which I recommend. The trip to the island is by a boat which takes about 45 min and I found most on the boat go there for a half day stay. The resort can be a romantic get away, especially during the sunset.

One thing I like most was their service. Everyone was so courteous and accommodating specially the drivers both in the hotel and in the city. Just got disappointed when they didn't notify us of the ongoing renovation, so we weren't able to enjoy the Parola and the infinity pool. Also the food were very expensive and it's not even gourmet food. But overall, our stay was almost perfect. I've already recommended this to my boyfriend's parents and they'll stay there this July! :)

We had a nice experience at Pearl Farm Beach Resort from the airport transfer going to the Marina then to the resort. The resort in itself is a paradise. It is secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city and you get to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the place. And being at peace with nature. In general, it was a memorable experience for me and my family. In fact, we're already planning in coming back to the resort next year.

Amenities are well maintained. The infinity pool is heated but the other pool near the Mandaya house is cold. Rooms are clean but the toilet and bathroom needs upgrading. The whole resort is very clean. It's location is a 45- munute boat trip from the wharf. All the staff are nice and accomodating. I enjoyed the sunset yoga, movie watching at the Pagoda and fish feeding while snorkeling.
