Diniwid Beach Hotel Corp., Boracay franchise holder of the US-based Microtel chain, will open a 51-room Microtel Inn & Suites in Boracay, Aklan this November 2006. The two-storey hotel will offer double and suite accommodations, all with Chiropractic-approved beds and other features that Microtel standards are known for. But aside from that, this first-in-the-chain “Microtel resort” will also have a swimming pool and restaurant in this prime beachfront location. With its island setting, the design of Microtel Boracay will harmonize with the beach ambience particularly in its furnishings, landscape design and with the incorporation of a few modifications like small balconies and individual pocket gardens outside some of the rooms. The hotel will also have its own sewage treatment plant as part of Microtel’s commitment to preserving the environment. Note:There will be a seventy five pesos (Php75.00) per person Environmental Fee and one hundred pesos (Php 100.00) per person Terminal Fee to be paid at the Caticlan Jetty Port upon arrival. And another one hundred pesos (Php 100.00) per person Terminal Fee at the Cagban Jetty port. The charges shall be under personal account.

To get to Boracay, visitors can travel by air from Manila to Caticlan Airport or Kalibo Airport. The plane ride is about 35-45 minutes. Via Caticlan: From Caticlan Airport, take a short ride by bus or van to the Caticlan Jetty Port. From there, an outrigger boat will take you to Cagban Port (15 minutes). Ride the shuttle going to the hotel (15 minutes). From Kalibo: If landing in Kalibo, take a short ride by bus or by van to the Caticlan Jetty Port.
