Zhao An Hotel only a little way outside the city center and commercial districts the hotel still provides on the doorstep access to the metro system line No.1. A simple 10 minute metro ride is Peoples Square which puts you within reach of most attractions plus Shanghai Railway Station is only 10 minutes walk away. It was a delight to see a modern building serviced with English speaking staffi. Rooms are available in a variety of configurations, with even a duplex suite. Although well maintained and clean the decoration of rooms was a bit too pink for my liking. A surprising number of facilities were on offer, outdoor swimming pool, sauna, bowling alley and function rooms - you wonder how it is only a 3 star hotel.
