Day 1
Departing Broome at 7:00am, our first stop is the infamous Derby
'Boab Prison Tree'. We then travel up the famous Gibb River
road to the majestic waterfalls and crystal clear pools of Bell
gorge where we have lunch. Sit back and relax in the evening
at our campsite at Bell Gorge (Silent Grove), while our guide
cooks you a delicious campfire dinner.
Day 2
We make today's first stop at Imintji Aboriginal Community for
some time out with the locals before a morning swim at Galvins
Gorge. After lunch we bushwalk through to Manning Falls and
swim in deep clear pools and marvel at the stunning natural
landscape. We camp on Mount Barnett Station at a billabong oasis
in the heart of gorge country.
Day 3
After an early start we travel back down the Gibb River road
to Adcock gorge, a large pool surrounded by lush remnant rainforest
and stunning scenery. Back on the Gibb River road we travel
to and Tunnel Creek, a 750 metre cave system carved through
the Napier Range, an Devonian reef system 350 million years
old.
Here we explore stalactites, several different species of bats,
marine life and ancient Aboriginal rock-art.
Then it's off to the famous Windjana gorge to search for freshwater
crocodiles and marvel at the stunning natural beauty of this
oasis of the outback. Here, we camp for the night with the spectacular
Napier Range as the backdrop.
Day 4
Today, we travel to what many Kimberley locals call the heart
of the Kimberley, Fitzroy Crossing. Here we discover the majestic
Geike Gorge where we meet our Indigenous Bunuba guide who leads
us on a half-day Darngku heritage Cultural cruise exploring
the area. Our Bunuba guide tells of the dreamtime stories of
the area, demonstrates traditional fire lighting, animal tracking
and more. Travelling through Kimberley cattle country we return
to Broome.
