There
are a number of special conditions where you will be responsible
for all costs to repair the vehicle. Some conditions are:
- Driving
above the snowline
- Vehicle
is submerged in water
- Driving
on beaches and/ or dry river beds
- Proven
to be drink driving
- Driving
off road
- Damage
to under body and overhead
Security
Bond
Upon
payment, only credit card, cash or travellers cheques can be
used.
If paying by cash or travellers cheques, a A$330 deposit is
required in addition to the rental charge.
Drivers
21-24 years of age cannot leave a cash deposit; they are required
to only use credit card. Only Australian Dollars are acceptable
if paying by cash but the customer does have the option of paying
by Traveller's Cheque in Australian Dollars.
Airport
Recovery Fee (ARF)
(applies when picking up a car from an
airport)
At
a time when airports in Australia have either been privatised
or are about to become privatised, these airports are charging
significant increases in concession fees. (up to 12% on top
of total car rental charges)
Europcar
will therefore charge an Airport Recovery Fee (ARF) that reimburses
Europcar for fees imposed by the airports.
Please
note ARF is only applicable to airport collections and not airport
returns.
Europcar
reserves the right to change these fees or add additional airports
during the course of the contract.
Delivery
Service
(not available Saturday, Sunday Or public Holidays)
Europcar
offers free delivery and collection of vehicles to and from
a location of your choice within a 5km radius of our nearest
location from Monday to Friday (09:00 to 16:00). Clients must
request this service when making the reservation.
The
rental agreement will be deemed to be terminated at the time
the renter notifies the Europcar employee that the vehicle is
ready for collection.
A
credit card number must be provided at the time of booking.
Rental
Days
At
Europcar, our days are based on 24-hour periods rather than
calendar days.
Therefore
if you pick the car up at 9am on the 1st and Drop the car back
at 12pm on the 2nd you will be charged 2 full days car rental.
(59 minutes grace time is allowed)
Minimum
Rental Age
Drivers
must be at least 21 years of age to be eligible to rent a car
from Europcar, however, there are restrictions for renters under
the age of 25. They are as follows:
- 21-24yr
olds must be a credit card holder
- 21-22yr
olds cannot reduce their Damage Liability
- 21-22yr
olds cannot hire any vehicle larger than CCAR
- 23-24yr
olds cannot hire any vehicle larger than an ICAR
- A
minimum age of 25 yrs is required for 4WD and luxury/prestige
vehicles.
- All
4WD, Luxury and Prestige hirers must hold a credit card
One
Way Rentals
One-way
rentals are available between most locations. Either a minimum
number of days apply or a drop fee.
Extras
Europcar
provides baby seats for all passenger vehicles. They are suitable
for children aged 1 to 4 years.
Baby
seats need to be pre-booked to ensure supply upon arrival. Baby
seats cost A$5.50 per day (incl GST), with a maximum of $38.50
per rental (incl GST).
Europcar
does not supply baby capsules or booster seats.
Drivers
Licenses
A
driver's license must be sighted at time of pick-up that is
valid for the period of rental and the driver must be able to
read in English.
Probationary
licences are not acceptable nor are photocopies.
Europcar
accepts all international driving licences when accompanied
with a license of origin.
For
identification purposes, we also require clients to provide
their credit card details
Kilometre
Allowance
In
Metropolitan locations, rates include unlimited kilometres.
This applies to standard vehicles only.
For
Country areas, rates include 200 kilometres per day
For
Remote areas 100 kilometres per day applies.
The
only exception applies to rentals in Northern Territory, eg
Darwin, Alice Springs and Katherine. These rates include unlimited
mileage, except for PVAR & IVAR categories which include
200kms per day.
For
specialty vehicles, such as eight seater passenger vans, twelve
seater minibuses, luxury vehicles and 4WD's, rates include 200
kilometres from Metropolitan, Country Locations and 100kms from
Remote Locations.
Additional
kilometres are 27.5 cents per kilometre. This rule applies at
all Australian locations.
