Royal Flying Doctor Service

Established in 1939 and still fully operational, the Alice Springs Royal Flying Doctor Service operates through the Central Australian region. Regular tours of the base offer visitors the chance to learn the role and the importance of this outback medical service in both the history and future of Alice Springs.

Frontier Camel Farm

Climb aboard one of these "Ships of the Desert" and take a leisurely stroll along the banks of the Todd River, followed by an Aussie-style BBQ. Frontier Camel Tours also operates from Ayers Rock Resort.

Aboriginal Art & Culture Centre

Learn to play the didgeridoo, observe artists at work, or simply browse through the gallery. This Aboriginal-owned and managed centre is the best place in the region to learn about and absorb the mystery of Aboriginal culture.

Alice Springs Desert Park

The Park is a showcase of the Australian desert areas. It features one of the largest desert nocturnal houses and showcases a breathtaking performance of birds of prey displaying their natural behaviours.

Overland Telegraph Station
Site of the first European settlement in Alice Springs and where you will find the original Alice Springs waterhole after which the town was named. Wander though the beautifully restored buildings and get an insight into what life was like for these first settlers.
Museum of Central Australia
The Museum showcases, and is an interpretive centre for, Central Australia's natural history. Exhibits follow the evolution of the landscape and the creatures which inhabited it. An awardwinning display within the Museum relates specifically to Professor Ted Strehlow and the Strehlow Colesstion of his work with the Aranda people of central Australia.
Palm Valley Safari
Take a 4WD one day safari along the bed of the Finke River through the Finke Gorge National Park with AAT Kings. Explore the unique plantlife of Palm Valley including Cycad and 'Livistona Mariae' relic plants. View the spectacular Natural Ampitheatre and the magificant views of the West MacDonnell Ranges.
Alice Springs School of the Air
They call it biggest classroom in the world - 1.3 million square kilometres and, for children living in the outback, the only classroom they will know. Tours of the base include interpretive displays that demonstrate the important role it plays in this vast region and, on schooldays, you will be able to hear lessons in progress.
Ballooning
Hot air ballooning is the best way to see the Red Centre - take in the magnificent MacDonnell Ranges, the vast, open spinifex plains and desert sands - then come back to earth for a champagne breakfast!
